| Naturen er ødsel og verden er mangfoldig. Vi ved det godt, men det er sjældent, man oplever det så intenst som under et besøg på Pometet i Tåstrup, vores nationale samling af frugt- og bærsorter. Her er omkring 2000 forskellige sorter af frugt og bær samlet på et sted. Æblesorterne udgør den største samling med omkring 750 forskellige sorter, og de er et imponerende syn i sensommeren, hvor frugternes forskelligheder træder frem. |

| In organic production in Denmark, no pesticides are allowed. The need for alternative pest control is therefore large. Apple sawfly (Hoplocampa testudinea) cause big crop losses in apples. Sawflies infest fruitlets and cause these to drop prematurely after which the pests pupate in the topsoil. Combined production of hens and fruit trees is a subject often discussed in organic fruit production in Denmark. The feeding poultry may reduce the population of pests, which stay in the soil as a part of their life circle. Yet, very little research has been carried out on this type of production system. |

| Apesar das variedades crioulas favorecerem a autonomia no processo produtivo na agricultura familiar, tem-se observado o seu abandono ao elevar-se o nível tecnológico empregado na lavoura, acreditando-se que apenas os cultivares modernos apresentam retorno econômico. Dessa forma, o objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar a influência de diferentes sistemas tecnológicos de manejo sobre os caracteres agronômicos de milho, provenientes de duas variedades crioulas ('Argentino' e 'BR da Várzea') e de dois híbridos. Os sistemas de manejo foram classificados como baixo, médio e alto nível tecnológico. | Organic fruit growers often suffer economic losses due to insect damages. The available natural pest control products are not always effective; and most important: many organic fruit growers would prefer not to use any pesticide at all. EcoOrchard, a CORE Organic Plus project (2015-18) aims to collect existing knowledge and generate new knowledge in order to use Functional AgroBiodiversity (FAB) successfully in orchards. | Frugt og bær trives godt på øerne. En vigtig årsag til dette er at nattefrost i maj kan tage pynten fuldstændigt af frugt- og bærudbytter, men den kolde oplevelse er sjælden, når man er omgivet af lunkent vand, som øboere jo er. Frugt og bær giver også trivsel til dem, der spiser dem. Indholdet af sundhedsfremmende stoffer er i frugt og bær større end i nogen anden landbrugsafgrøde, så det er produkter, vi burde spise flere af. |

| Perennial flower strips improve the effectiveness of biological pest control by predators and parasitoids in fruit production. The guide presents results from the European EcoOrchard project and other studies, explains how the flower strips function, introduces suitable plants and describes step by step the procedure for planting and maintenance.
